Kula Community Watershed Alliance
Our restoration efforts are fueled by committed volunteers.
KCWA’s volunteers are rooted in this community — fire survivors, schools, local families — people who return again and again. We’re fostering heart counts, not just head counts.
There are a variety of projects to get involved with, including volunteer work caring for seeds and plants in our Community Restoration Nursery, seed collection hikes, tree planting events, invasive species management, seed storage support, and more.

In addition to MONTHLY “Kōkua Days” at the Community Restoration Nursery on the last Sunday of each month, we also host school groups, corporate service days, and this planting season will be hosting planting events in alignment with the Hawaiian moon calendar.

Post-fire recovery, soil stabilization, and land restoration of this magnitude is a long-term stewardship process that requires hard work, specialized equipment, expertise, and resources to properly execute. Volunteer
The Alliance is currently engaged in large-scale soil stabilization work in the burn areas requiring skilled contractors and machine operators – it is work that’s not quite suitable for volunteers.
